Glycidol-Coated Aminated FNDs

10037r Coated-Aminated (NH2)-rFND-40 These Cymaris FNDs are coated with glycidol, then directly aminated.  They are an excellent starting material for preparing custom conjugates of ultrabright and photostable fluorescently labeled proteins or other biopolymers. Aminated FNDs react efficiently with isothiocyanates and succinimidyl esters, or with native carboxylic acids using water-soluble carbodiimides such as 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide (EDC). Such derivatives may be used for various labeling and tracking applications that require ultrabright and stable fluorescence.

Cymaris PEGylated FNDs are functionalized with discretely sized polyethylene glycols of unique, specific, single molecular weight, which convey the beneficial properties of monodispersity, increased water solubility, reduced aggregation, and reduced immunogenicity.  Pegylated, azide-terminated, FNDs are ideal for labeling alkyne containing molecules or biomolecules using either copper-catalyzed 1,3 dipolar cycloaddition click chemistry or copper-free click chemistry with cyclooctyne derivatives. The azide group reacts with alkynes to form a stable triazole linkage facilitating the introduction of biotin into the alkyne modified system of interest. This reaction is compatible with biological systems (bioorthogonal) as its components do not react with the biological environment
