DIAMONDS FOR BIOSCIENCE
Fluorescent Nanodiamonds (FNDs)
Cymaris offers fluorescent NV-center nanodiamonds (FNDs) in sizes of approximately 40 and 100 nm. They are typically excited at 532 nm and show steady, non-blinking emission centered at 700 nm. The diamonds are biocompatible, pH stable, non-quenching, and are provided as stable colloidal suspensions. Available coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) of specific unit lengths (i.e. 4, 12, 36 PEG units), glycidol, or proprietary surface coatings to increase conjugation and reduce non-specific binding. Additional coatings and diamond sizes available upon request.
Cymaris functionalized nanodiamonds are ideal for preparing custom conjugates of ultra bright and photo stable fluorescently labeled biomolecules for labeling and tracking applications.

Alcohol-terminated Glycidol Coated FNDs | Pricing Details
Alcohol groups at the end of the glycidol linker can be used with NHS cross linking reagents, such as DSC or CDI, for preparing custom conjugates of fluorescently labeled biomolecules. Glycidol coated FNDs offer a much higher density of alcohol surface groups than Cymaris’ PEG coated nanodiamonds, and also allow for preparation of surface aldehyde groups. |
||
Thiol-terminated Glycidol Coated FND | Pricing Details
Thiol (sulfhydryl) groups at the end of the glycidol linker offer an alternative to alcohol groups for preparing custom conjugates of fluorescently labeled biomolecules. Sulfhydryl-reactive chemistries can restrict modification within the target molecule, thereby increasing chances of retained activity following conjugation. |
||
Propargyl-terminated Glycidol Coated FNDs | Pricing Details
Propargyl groups at the end of the glycidol linker can be used for click chemistry bioconjugation reactions, allowing high-yield preparation of fluorescently labeled biomolecules.

PEGYLATED FNDS |
||
Alcohol-terminated PEG-FNDs | Pricing Details
Alcohol groups at the end of the PEG linker can be used for preparing custom conjugates of ultrabright and photostable fluorescently labeled biomolecules for labeling and tracking applications.
Amine-terminated PEG-FNDs | Pricing Details
Amino PEG-FNDs react efficiently with isothiocyanates and succinimidyl esters, or with native carboxylic acids using water-soluble carbodiimides such as ethylene dichloride (EDC), and are the ideal starting material for preparing custom conjugates of ultrabright and photostable fluorescently labeled proteins or other biopolymers. |
||
NHS-Activated PEG-FNDs | Pricing Details
NHS is commonly used for labeling and crosslinking to the amines of other molecules. Ideal for creating customized, fluorescently-labeled proteins, antibodies, and nucleic acids.
Maleimide-Activated PEG-FNDs | Pricing Details
Due to exceptionally fast reaction rates and significantly high selectivity towards cysteine residues in proteins, Maleimide-mediated methodologies are among the most used in bioconjugation.

CONJUGATED NV FNDS NV FNDs conjugated with Streptavidin, Biotin or Antibodies via a highly biocompatible PEG spacer. |
||
Streptavidin PEG-FNDs | Pricing Details
Streptavidin probes are commonly used for specific detection of a variety of proteins, protein motifs, nucleic acids, and other molecules. Useful in detection protocols including western blots, flow cytometry, imaging and microscopy, and microplate assays, and in purification workflows to achieve targeted fractionation. |
||
Biotin PEG-FNDs | Pricing Details
Biotin-labeled NV FNDs are ideal for detecting streptavidin probes or for creating noncovalent conjugates with streptavidin-labeled molecules, or with other biotinylated molecules using a streptavidin bridge.
Antibody PEG-FNDs | Pricing Details
NV FNDs, conjugated to highly purified primary or secondary antibodies, are photo-stable, biocompatible probes for cell staining, targeted in vivo imaging, flow cytometry, western blotting, enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), and other applications that require extremely bright, non-toxic, targeted probes. |
